Welcome to the Website for Steamfitters Local 475

Steamfitters Local 475 recently celebrated its 100th year of existence. Chartered in Newark, the Local covers Essex and Union counties and parts of Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset and Warren counties.
As with all United Association Locals, training is a top priority. The Local 475 training facility is in constant use with apprentice training during the day and open classes for journeymen in the evening.

The Local does a variey of work, the Bayway Refinery in Linden being just a small sample of the type of work done by the skilled members of Local 475. The refinery has the Local take care of all of its piping maintenance. Budweiser's Newark Brewery is another plant built and maintained by Local 475.

The Pharmaceutical Industry also relies heavily on the skilled craftsmen produced in our training center. Among these companies are Merck, Schering-Plough, Hoffman-LaRoche, Aventis, and Ortho. In these facilities, all of the process piping is installed and maintained by Local 475 members. This, along with all the comfort heating and cooling in all facilities, such as Newark International Airport, demonstrates the versatility of Local 475.

The Local also operates a complete health and retirement program for all of is members.

As we go into the 21st Century, Local 475 will continue to bring in projects "on time and under budget".
